What can I say?
For those that don't know already, Ariel and I spent May, June and July driving from Berkeley down to the southernmost reaches of Costa Rica in search of epic warm water waves. 11,000 miles. 14 border crossings. Countless perfect waves. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the whole incredible experience. Hopefully I can get some of it down in writing soon. It seems like something worth sharing. Regardless, we made it back in one piece, well, sort of. The truck was in many pieces when we parted ways with it in Ensenada, Baja California Norte. But it's getting fixed as I write and I'll be heading back down to pick it up in a couple of weeks, maybe.
I finally feel like I may be emerging from the haze of a post epic surf adventure depression. The distance to and lack thereof quality surf around here hasn't helped. Add to that cold and mostly foggy weather up here in the hills. Yesterday we had what felt like the first sunny surf session out at Bolinas since we've been back. That was definitely good for my morale so hopefully I'll be making better progress on getting the photos sorted out and put up on the site.
Lara Collins took some shots of us mounting the board box on the truck the day before we left. It was still a little tacky from the last coat of epoxy on the outside of it. Cut it a little close with that project! Ironically the box turned out to be one of the most robust parts of the truck. Who knew!
Anyways, here are the first of the shots :
Sorry if I missed any of you on the roadtrip emails, but I will be posting what I sent out on the website at some point.
Stay tuned! |
