I, Jereme Richard Monteau, was born on March 17th, 1978 in Anchorage, Alaska. My parents were living in Homer, Alaska at the time but my mom was flown to Anchorage in a very small plane for an emergency C-section. Apparently the pilot of that plane died a few years later by way of having his head chopped off by an airplane propeller. Ouch.

We lived in Alaska for my first 3 or 4 years and then made the move south to California. I remember attending elementary school in Palm Springs at Vista Del Monte Elementary. Good times. I Learned how to read, write, ride a bike, skateboard, play soccer and all the rest of the fun kid stuff. Nice and warm the whole time. Even had a mountain (San Jacinto) right there so we could take the tram up and play in the snow!

Sometime around the 4th grade, must have been 1987 or so, we returned to Alaska, this time Anchorage, the "big" city. I was enrolled in Denali Montessori for the remainder of primary school and went on to attend Steller Secondary School for grades 7 through 12. I Graduated high school in 1996 and went on to attend college at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

After completing a couple of years of coursework I went on a year long work-study, back in Alaska, with the guys I had started working with before I had left for college. That was a great experience and definitely gave me a appetite for working in tech. After only a couple of months being back at RIT I received a call from a friend from high school that was working at "dot com" in the bay area. He thought I should come out for an interview. So they flew me out for the weekend, the interview went well and a couple weeks later I had made the decision to accept a job offer from the company that would become iSpheres. At the end of 1999 I made my way west to live in the bay area.

Since arriving in this amazing place I have lived in San Bruno, Oakland, The Mission and Richmond Districts in San Francisco and finally in Berkeley, where I have been for last 5 years or so.

I have an amazing girlfriend named Ariel and we have two cats named Marley and Cholo. Ariel and I met at Berkeley Ironworks climbing gym about 6 years ago now and have been having a great time every since! Ariel found Marley and Cholo at the Berkeley Humane Society a little over a year ago now and they have been hanging around ever since.

Last October I finally couldn't stand it anymore and left my job at iSpheres to take some time of to travel, surf and do whatever else felt good. At the moment I'm spending most of my time running, doing contract website work, and surfing whenever I get the chance. I love taking photos of our travels and adventures and some people think I'm pretty good at at!

This site has been up, in various forms, for 5 years now and I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if there is anything I can do better.
